Benin in Pot 3

The seedings for the draw of the third final stage of qualifying have been made and Benin have been placed in the third seed line meaning they are in pot 3. That is good news as I was afraid that they may be placed in pot 4 which would’ve been disaster in terms of qualifying for the World Cup. Here are the complete pot listings and I will have further thoughts and analysis on the seedings in the coming days.

Pot 1: Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Egypt, Ghana and Nigeria
Pot 2: Algeria, Guinea, Mali, Morocco and Tunisia
Pot 3: Benin, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Kenya and Zambia
Pot 4: Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sudan and Togo
